Coaching for Adults with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome
Hearing you may be on the autism spectrum can be confusing and overwhelming
You may be very successful at your job but continue to feel isolated while struggling to find the right things to say and when to say them. While social skills may be challenging, people with Asperger’s can be very talented with the topics they find interesting. It may be very helpful now that you are confronting this as an adult, to have a therapist or coach create a plan to ensure you are addressing the most important topics first.
Many times we want a better social life, a better love life, or a more fulfilling career but may not be making the necessary steps to accomplish this. Our strategies can often become an inconsistent and ineffective match with what we really want. We can sit at home trying to justify this by the attempts we’ve made that haven’t worked out. “What are you doing to meet your goals?”, can often be a valuable and helpful question. It can be helpful to have a therapist or coach at your side, who can support you and guide you through taking these steps one at a time. Sometimes we have bad luck and other times, it’s because we need better strategies!
