Adult Coaching and Asperger’s Syndrome

Hearing you may have Asperger’s Syndrome or navigating through life with this diagnosis can be confusing and overwhelming.

You may be very successful at your job but continue to feel isolated while struggling to find the right things to say and when to say them. While social skills may be challenging, people with Asperger’s can be very talented with the topics they find interesting. It may be very helpful to have someone coach you on pursuing these interests and passions while navigating the social world around you.

Many times we want a better social life, a better love life, or a more fulfilling career but are not making the necessary steps to accomplish this. Our strategies can often become an inconsistent and ineffective match with what we really want. We can sit at home trying to justify this by the attempts we’ve made that haven’t worked out. “What are you doing to meet your goals?”, can often be a valuable and helpful question. It can be helpful to have a coach at your side, who can support you and guide you through taking these steps one at a time. Sometimes we have bad luck and other times, it’s because we need better strategies!

Andrew Vogl, M.A., BCBA, sees adults and adolescents with Asperger’s at his office here in San Francisco and through video conferencing.  He can design a highly individualized program and plan that will help you achieve the growth you may be looking for. In his 25 years of experience, he has learned to combine his approach with the client’s needs by continually providing both counseling and concrete plans with a proven track record. Think of this as developing your own personal social toolbox that will help you throughout your life.

Asperger’s Syndrome

I can help you work with other adults affected by Asperger’s

Parents of Young Adults with Asperger’s

Andrew Vogl’s work here in SF often includes working with and supporting the parents of young adults. It is often important to meet with parents along with the child to address the most important challenges at hand. Some parents, while trying out different therapists, may feel like it’s necessary to have someone who specializes in Asperger’s or the autism spectrum. Counseling specific to Asperger’s along with parent training can often get things moving forward where they haven’t before.

Adults with Asperger’s Syndrome

Andrew also offers coaching to adults who are diagnosed with or feel they may have Asperger’s syndrome. Coaching sessions are nonjudgemental and provide concrete feedback and homework to address the most important issues.

In addition to office visits, sessions can be done through video conferencing from the comfort of your own home. Depending on where you are located, insurance reimbursement is highly possible and Andrew is happy to do the legwork to find out exactly what is covered.
